Brentwood Glen E-Blast

I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project:



The Brentwood Glen Association has recieved notification that the full closure of Montana undercrossing for tonight has been cancelled and is anticipated to take place early next week.



The contractor will be pouring the deck on the new portion of the Sunset Bridge for three nights. This will require directional full freeway closures and and full closures of Sepulveda Blvd and Sunset Blvd on the following nights:



Tuesday, August 23, 2011 - NB 405 from Montana to Moraga from 12 am - 5 am and the Sunset Bridge from 10 pm - 6 am.



Monday, August 29, 2011 - SB 405 from Sunset off ramp to Wilshire Blvd from 12 am - 5 am and Sunset Bridge from 10 pm to 6 am.



Wednesday, August 31, 2011 - Sepulveda Blvd from Montana to Church Lane amd Sunset Bridge from 10 pm to 6 am.



Garage Sale:



We currently have 13 participants in the garage sale. We just need 2 more home people to commit to participating in order to have the sale. Please let us know ASAP if you wish to partake in the neighborhood garage sale on Sat., September 17, 2011 from 8 AM - 2 PM.



Those wishing to participate please contact Cori Solomon at either terikor@gte.net or 310.880.4924. Please let us know by September 8, 2011 if you wish to participate. We need 15 homes to participate in order for the garage sale to happen. The cost to participate is $20 per home payable to the Brentwood Glen Association and includes all advertising and signs and maps to all the properties.



Westwood Farmers Market:



As you may already know the Westwood Farmers Market in the VA is having a hard time keeping the market alive during the 405 construction. The Brentwood Glen is trying to support them anyway we can during the construction because they are in our backyard so to speak.



That being said on of the vendors, Wallace Comestible is offering a 20% discount on her delicious marmalades, chutneys, jams, etc to Brentwood Glen Residents so please mention you live in the Brentwood Glen.



Brentwood Glen Membership Dues:



We welcome your payment of 2011/2012 membership dues, which became due on June 1st. The dues help pay for many activities and representation of the Glen, including:



• Representation Of The Community’s Concerns And Testifying Before Government Committees On Traffic Issues Such As The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project,

• Attendance At Government Meetings And Representation Of Our Community’s Viewpoint On Vital Issues Such As The Draft Master Plan for the Veterans Administration Facility,

• Representation On The Brentwood Community Council,

• Liaison With The Local Police And Fire Precincts, and VA,

• On-Going Planting And Maintenance Of Church Lane,

• The Email Blast,

• Preparation And Delivery Of Welcoming Packets For New Residents,

• Brentwood Glen Day Community Barbecue and get together,

• And Other Events Such As The Annual Meeting, Tea In The Glen…
